Recognizing the importance of information security and aiming to become a digital enterprise by the end of 2023 following the orientation of Vietnam Electricity, on April 25, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Southern Electricity Corporation (EVNSPC) cooperated with Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company to successfully organize the program “Information Security Drill 2023″.
Mr. Dao Hoang Duong – Deputy Head of EVN Telecommunications and IT Department, Mr. Vuong Huu Ngoc – Head of EVNSPC Telecommunications and IT Department, Mr. Truong Duc Luong – Chairman of Directors of Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company (VSEC), EVNSPC information technology and information security officers together with affiliated units attended this program.

Mr. Vuong Huu Ngoc, the head of EVNSPC Telecommunications and Information Technology Department, reported the state of information security in the world, in Vietnam, and EVNSPC’s information security orientation. “During the business management of the stage 2023 – 2025, Southern Power Corporation will focus on regulations and procedures set up for their information security policy in accordance with international standards. In the near future, they will enhance incident management and information security.”
Mr. Truong Duc Luong, VSEC Chairman of Directors, stated that VSEC would continue to assist the electricity industry in information security protection.
The program focuses on investigation and incident solutions in addition to information security exercises involving two situations: common malware code on user computers and targeted malicious code against the host computer. More than sixty information security and IT specialists from thirty member units of Southern Power Corporation were divided into twelve teams. After stressful hours with a serious attitude, Team 03 (Dong Nai Power Company Limited + Tay Ninh Power Company) eventually claimed the First Price. Team 02 (Binh Duong Power Company – Binh Phuoc Power Company) is in second place, followed by Team 01 (Binh Thuan Power Company – Ninh Thuan Power Company – Power Project Management Board of Southern Power Cooperation) and Team 08 (Soc Trang Power Company – SCADA Corporation) ranked third

Mr. Dao Hoang Duong – Deputy Head of EVN Telecommunications and IT Department, praised careful preparation of EVN SPC for information security protection and their highly concentrated enthusiastic specialists. Through this exercise, EVNSPC can evaluate their information security protection and cyberattack incident response capabilities.
