VSEC participated in the cyber security exercise “CYSEEX (Cyber Security Exercise) 2022” on December 10, 2022, with the theme of Joint response-sharing to enhance information security capacity which was first held at the International Convention Center.

The two main parts of “CYSEEX 2022” are the information security exercise and discussion forum. At the conference, the participants discuss and share their experience in monitoring, handling cyberattacks, building a strategy and architecture as well as improving the capacity to effectively respond to network security incidents.

“CYSEEX 2022 is a practical exercise that helps all coalition members improve their capacity and resources. Being the first CYSEEX host, MISA hopes to get more people to sign up and share experience, skills, and tools in information security.” – Mr. Lu Thanh Long, MISA Chairman of Directors stated.

As a state management agency and law enforcement organization of information security, Mr. Tran Dang Khoa – Deputy Director of the Information Security Department – Ministry of Information and Communications, appreciated the importance of the event in connecting groups to share and discuss practical solutions, with the goal of improving the information security capacity. Mr. Khoa also emphasized, “The Department of Information Security commits to follow up with businesses during the progress as well as strongly support CYSEEX Coalition.”

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung – Chairman of the Information Security Association (VNISA), asserted, “I truly hope that information security will be as essential as epidemics protection. So, we do appreciate Misa’s effort. This event records a new step in online information security.” He also stated that VNISA would accompany CYSEEX Coalition in the next steps.

Ransomware Cloud-based systems can still be attacked with malicious code, especially Ransomware.

At the conference, Mr. Be Khanh Duy, an information security expert from Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company (VSEC), gave a speech about “Technologies and methods of cyber attacks, exploiting vulnerabilities and weaknesses of software”. He stated that cloud-based services are becoming a trend nowadays, but not safe with many potential risks. The system network is not adaptable enough for such rapid change. More frequent cyber attacks cause much damage to both companies and individuals. To prevent and reduce risks, VSEC security experts have suggested applying Periodic Pentest, Security Assessment, Periodic Risk, Information Security Training, continuous operation, and SoC information solution – monitoring in order to respond timely, etc.

Next, the participants talked about what they have learned about monitoring and responding to cyberattacks. Building a strategy, setting up an information security network, and sharing information were also mentioned to enhance the capacity and thus find quick solutions to incidents. Mr. Tran Thanh Long, CEO & representative of Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company, said, “VSEC supports Redteam, Blueteam, and Pentest services, especially selective 24/7 Monitoring service. Not only VSEC, but other teams are preparing human resources for the best response to incidents. VSEC is glad to cooperate with CYSEEX Coalition and VSEC experts will support Blueteam, and Redteam with incident response methods.
